FOXTOWN BREWING

Foxtown Brewing was once the Opitz Zimmerman Brewery in the mid-1800s, Foxtown is a reclamation of Mequon history.

With a base of four flagship beers, these designs were made keeping in line with the established Foxtown look but taking it a step farther by introducing new colors, patterns, and fonts. Additionally, each label needed to have an illustration included. Some were outsourced others were hand drawn. These illustrations needed to convey the flavors as well as the style of beer. While these were limited to printing on a standard stock, liberties were taken to introduce shiny/foil-like looks by using gradient techniques where applicable.

Golden Strong Ale was the first to explore a darker color and to add in color to the title. A golden colored gradient was introduced to drive home the golden look and feel.

Oktoberfest Lager is defined by a large diamond pattern often associated with German beers. Paired with a german-style font, this label drives home the traditional German feel.

Strawberry Honey Lager is defined by its summer gingham pattern and whimsical font. This beer label included smaller illustrations near the logo as well.

Doppelbock was the first label to go all black. The dark label helped to emphasize the wood barrel texture. Like the Oktoberfest, this label uses a similar german-style font to call attention to the beer’s German heritage.
